Tomiwa is an articling student at BLG’s Toronto office. She assists lawyers on a wide variety of tasks within our Business and Disputes groups. She focuses primarily on business law.

Before BLG, Tomiwa worked at a boutique law firm in the U.S. for four years. She represented startups, emerging companies, and investors from the U.S. and CEE on diverse matters including U.S. market expansion, venture capital investments, equity and debt financings, and corporate governance.

Tomiwa is the current Co-President of the Harvard Law School Association Recent Graduates Network and Chair of the Ontario Bar Association Student Section. She also volunteers with the ITLNCA Networks. At Osgoode Hall Law School, Tomiwa was a Student Representative on the university’s Professional Graduate Studies Committee for two terms and an active member of the OsgoodePD LLM Student Committee. Notably, Tomiwa won the Top Submission Award at the 2024 Osgoode Law School Venture Capital Case Competition.

Tomiwa chose BLG because of the firm’s collegial environment. She was also impressed by BLG’s intentional diversity and inclusion initiatives – such as the firm’s diverse partnership ratio and the audio pronunciations of the names on the website – both of which signified a practical understanding of the culturally diverse nature of legal practice in Canada.

Outside of work, Tomiwa enjoys dancing, travelling, listening to music, trying food from different cultures, and attending her aqua-fitness classes. In 2025, she solo travelled to 11 countries across three continents.
