Stela focuses on construction litigation and arbitration. She provides strategic resolution-focused advice to owners, contractors and subcontractors in construction and engineering disputes.

Stela also practises insurance, tort liability and dispute resolution.


  • Counsel for a design-build contractor in a dispute arising out of the design and construction of a major ring road project in southern Alberta.
  • Counsel for the owner of a sulphur forming facility involving a dispute with the EPC contractor.
  • Defended a breach of contract and negligence claim that arose from an explosion and destruction of a decoking facility at the CNRL Horizon Project in the oil sands.
  • Counsel for an EPC contractor involving a dispute with the owner of a carbon capture plant.
