Emily Pitre


Emily's practice focuses on transportation law, environmental law, and insurance claim defense. She has experience representing ship owners and P&I Clubs in actions involving domestic and international shipping, and has advised clients on a wide range of marine and transportation matters, including commercial disputes, allision/grounding claims, cargo claims, bills of lading and contracts of affreightment disputes, ship arrests, terminal services agreements, and charterparties. Emily also has experience advising clients in administrative and regulatory matters.

Emily works with clients ranging from individual claimants to large corporations.

Emily joined BLG as an associate after summering and articling with the firm. During law school, she volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and served on the editorial board for Appeal, the peer-reviewed law journal published through the University of Victoria’s Faculty of Law.
